The Learning Action Cell (LAC) is a school-based continuing professional development strategy institutionalized by the Department of Education (DepEd) through DepEd Order No. 35, s. 2016. It serves as a platform for teachers and school leaders to engage in collaborative learning, reflective practice, and capacity-building activities directly related to their instructional responsibilities. LAC sessions provide regular, structured opportunities for educators to address classroom challenges, share best practices, and deepen their understanding of curriculum content, pedagogical strategies, and new DepEd policies. By focusing on relevant and timely teaching-learning concerns, LACs aim to enhance instructional quality and strengthen the delivery of basic education.

In alignment with this mandate, the ESP Department, in collaboration with the Mathematics Department, has consistently conducted a series of LAC sessions each year. Led by the department head, master teacher, and skilled faculty members, these sessions covered a range of topics including curriculum implementation, learner assessment, classroom management, and teaching innovations. They also provided updates on key education reforms such as the K to 12 Program, Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs), and the Results-Based Performance Management System (RPMS) aligned with the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST). These collaborative efforts have contributed to the continuous professional growth of teachers and the improvement of teaching practices across departments.
