The Career Guidance Program (CGP) is a key initiative of the Department of Education (DepEd) designed to help learners make informed, responsible, and well-matched decisions regarding their educational and career pathways. Targeting students primarily in Grades 7 to 12, the program equips them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes for effective career planning and development. Aligned with the K to 12 Basic Education Program, CGP ensures that students receive proper guidance in selecting the most suitable Senior High School (SHS) track or strand, technical-vocational pathway, or tertiary education program based on their interests, strengths, and long-term goals.
At AASMHS, the Career Guidance Program serves as a vital support system, empowering students to make meaningful and informed decisions about their academic and career futures. Facilitated by class advisers, guidance advocates, and other school personnel, the program is delivered through a variety of approaches including career assessments, one-on-one and group counseling sessions, as well as interactive activities such as career talks, webinars, and industry partnerships. These initiatives foster self-awareness, critical decision-making, and career exploration, enabling each student to confidently choose a Senior High School track or post-secondary path that aligns with their abilities and aspirations. Through CGP, AASMHS demonstrates its commitment to developing future-ready learners who are prepared to pursue higher education, entrepreneurship, or employment with confidence and purpose.
