This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the VEEP strategy in enhancing the reading comprehension skills of the 14 identified pupils of Dalaya Elementary School derived through total enumeration as participants of the study employing one group pretest – posttest quasi – experimental research design using mean, standard deviation, paired sample t – test, and eta squared test in analyzing the data gathered. Results showed that there was a big increase in the performance of the pupils indicated by their pretest mean score to their posttest mean score. There was a significant difference between their pretest and posttest scores in favor of their posttest which suggested that the VEEP was very effective in enhancing the reading comprehension skills of the pupils in teaching the English subject, and the VEEP strategy had a very large effect in improving the reading comprehension skills of the pupils which confirmed its effectiveness as an instructional approach in enhancing the pupils’ performance level in reading comprehension. It was recommended that teachers should use the VEEP strategy in teaching reading comprehension and further study on the topic should be conducted.
