Regional Animal Protection Society (RAPS) has an upcoming volunteer opportunity for students. RAPS is hosting several community fundraising events in February and March, and they are hoping to recruit high school students who are looking to earn volunteer hours while supporting a local nonprofit and a great cause.
To kick off 2026, RAPS is launching their annual Car Lottery and 50/50 Raffle, featuring a brand-new 2026 Nissan Leaf generously donated by our largest sponsor, Applewood Auto Group (for the third year in a row). The donated vehicle will be displayed at shopping centres across the Lower Mainland, and volunteers help by engaging with the public and raising awareness of RAPS’ rescue and community programs.
This is a fun, meaningful, and accessible way for students to:
Earn volunteer hours
Support animal welfare in their community
Build confidence and customer-service skills
Students are welcome to volunteer with a friend or family member. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Brief training is provided a few days before the event.
**They are planning to bring adoptable kittens to these events also**
⚠️ Important Commitment Notice
Shopping centres require that a minimum of two volunteers remain with the vehicle at all times. By signing up, volunteers are committing to attend their entire shift, as on-site replacements are not available and the car cannot be left unattended.
