Topic 3 : Future Simple Tense
The principle of Future Simple Tense
1. Use Future Simple Tense to talk about activity that is going to happen in the future. It is often used with Adverb of Time, For example :
tomorrow
next…
soon
shortly
later
etc.
Example : I will go to the bank tomorrow.
2. Use Future Simple Tense to talk about activity that you suddenly decided to do
Example : I think I will buy a new dress next month.
“to be going to” an be used instead of will/shall
3. Use Future Simple Tense to talk about activity that you plan to do in the future.
Example : He is going to have a new car next month.
I am going to leave him alone for a while.
4. Use Future Simple Tense to talk about activity that is certainly going to happen in the future.
Example : Your ice cream is going to melt in a minute.
5. Use Future Simple Tense to talk about activity that you are expected to happen.
Example : They are going to scream if they know you’re here.
The Structure of Future Simple Tense
Affirmative Sentence : Subject + will/shall + Verb1
They will/shall go to the movie tonight.
She will/shall read today.
Negative Sentence : Subject + will/shall + not + Verb1
They will/shall not go to the movie tonight.
She will/shall not read today.
Interrogative Sentence : Will/Shall + Subject + Verb1?
Will/Shall They go to the movie tonight.
Will/Shall She read today.
Interrogative Sentence : Who/What/Where/When/Why/How + will/shall + Subject +Verb1
Where they go to the movie tonight?
What she read today?
**The short negative form of will/shall not = won’t and shan’t**
Example
It will rain soon.
I think I will stay at home .
I will read a new book.
My sister will write a letter to her friend.
She won’t draw the picture this morning.
My brother won’t play football today.
He will cleans his room.
My friends will have lunch at the restaurant at noon.
My mother will prepares food for this breakfast.
