Interrogative Sentence is a type of sentence that asks a question.
There are 4 types of Interrogative sentences.
Yes/No interrogatives
Alternative interrogatives.
Wh-interrogatives
Tag questions.
Wh-question: who, whom, whose, what, which, why, where, when, and how
1. “Who” asking what or which person or people (subject)
Who is your friend?
= Tom is my friend.
2. “Whom” asking what or which person or people (object)
Whom do you like?
= I like Bob.
3. “Whose” asking about ownership
Whose shirt is this?
= This shirt is John's.
4. “What” asking for information about something
What is your name?
= My name is Suda.
What time is it?
= It 's three o'clock.
5. “Which” asking about choice
Which shirt do you like best? The green or the red.
= The green one.
6. “Why” asking for reason ,The answer always begins with “because”
Why do you come late?
= Because I get up late.
7. “Where” asking about place or position
Where will you go next week?
= I will go to Japan next week.
8. “When” asking about time
When will you go to Japan?
= I will go to Japan next week.
9. “How” asking about manner, condition or quality
How are you? Asking about your condition.
= I am fine.
How much/many Asking about quantity (countable and uncountable)
How tall Asking about height
How far Asking about distance
How wide Asking about dimension
How often Asking about frequency
How old Asking about ages
