Team Upstanders
Team Upstanders is on its way to becoming a nationwide initiative that supports the anti bullying message utilizing the support of peers and trusted adults at Deer Lakes Middle School. Deer Lakes Middle School is the first school to participate in this initiative. This program has been created by actor Trevor Donovan. Trevor visited Deer Lakes Middle School in April, 2022 to kick off his campaign.
The role of an Upstander is to support fellow classmates, share their positive influence, and access support for those who need it by reaching out to a teacher or staff member. This role is held by eighth graders. The hope is that their influence encourages others to accept the role as well.
Students and staff are encouraged to share joys and concerns. All submissions will be reviewed and will receive a response if the student or staff member requests it and leaves their full name. Use the form below to send a message to Team Upstanders.
