Hello and welcome to Dr. Robert Thornton!

We are so happy to have you join the Thornton family and welcome you as our newest Thunderbirds!

Thornton is a wonderful place to learn and grow! It is a place where we have committed ourselves to the well-being of our staff and students, to raising achievement, raising aspirations and enriching the school experience. It is through this commitment that we create a focus on student success.

We value and nurture partnerships between school, family and community, and believe our student’s lives are enriched by such relationships. Through open communication, quality teaching and learning, our dedication to developing an inclusive learning environment and our commitment to mental health and well-being, we truly provide the building blocks of success!

Parents of new kindergarten students will receive a letter from the school in August. This letter will contain important information including your child's Ontario Education Number (OEN). The OEN will be used often in your child's educational journey and should be stored in a safe place. You will use the OEN when setting up or adding your child to your Parent Portal account. Class placements will be updated in the portal a few days before the start of school.
