Meet the Educators

Dr. Robert Thornton will have four Full Day Kindergarten classes for the 2024/25 school year.
The staffing below is based on our current 2023/24 school year.

Each team is comprised of a O.C.T. (Ontario College of Teachers) and D.E.C.E. (Designated Early Childhood Educator). Both partners work together to plan, teach, assess and care for your child throughout the school day.

Mrs. Ledger & Ms. Archer

I have been a teacher with the Durham District School Board for the last 17 years, and I have been teaching Kindergarten for the last 9 years. I have two young children, a son who will be starting grade 3 in September and a daughter who will be entering grade 1 this fall. I am so excited to meet you on the first day of school, and to be a part of your journey through school! I look forward to getting to observe all the learning and gains you will have over the next two years!

We are very excited to welcome you to Kindergarten at Dr. Robert Thornton Public School. We are the educator team in room 13. We love going on adventures, creating, learning and growing with our students. We can't wait to meet all our new Thunderbirds in September.

I have been with the Durham District School Board for 4 years. I have a daughter who is just under a year old and I'm looking forward to coming in September. I am excited to meet all our new students and get to know all of the families.

I am very excited to be a part of the Thornton Kindergarten team again this year! This will be my sixth year teaching in DDSB and I am looking forward to the quickly approaching school year. I can't wait to learn and grow with all our new students in September!
