*NEW* AQ/ABQ Subsidy Funding
Professional learning is one of the key pillars of the New Teacher Induction Program (NTIP). Every year, we strive to provide access to a variety of meaningful opportunities for professional learning and development for the newest teachers within our system.
The NTIP department aims to provide subsidy funding to all NTIP-eligible teachers for AQ/ABQ courses started and completed in the Winter and Spring sessions; between January 1, 2023 and May 31, 2023. Up to a maximum of $650.00 will be reimbursed to NTIP-eligible teachers upon course completion.
Who Can Apply for the NTIP subsidy?
NTIP Educators who are:
1st Year NTIP Permanent hires (in full or part-time positions); or
NTIP permanent hires beyond Year 1 who did not successfully complete NTIP in their first year of permanent teaching (this includes individuals whose TPAs were stalled due to the pandemic).
Teachers in Long Term Occasional (LTO) positions of 97 consecutive teaching days or longer; under the same contract.
*At this time, funding is only available to NTIP Permanent teachers and to teachers in Long Term Occasional Positions as described above. *
The AQ Subsidy Application Process
Step 1 - Anyone wishing to receive funding MUST APPLY ahead of the course start date. The application form is accessible here.
Step 2 - Proof of Course Completion must be sent to Tanya Salmon, NTIP Facilitator, once the course is completed.
Special Notes
Funding cannot be allocated for the completion of PQP courses.
Funding will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Applicants who do not follow all required steps will not be considered for reimbursement.
Applicants may only apply for this subsidy if they have not already applied for/will not be receiving reimbursement for the same course from any other AQ provider or program.
AQ courses may be completed with any OCT approved provider. They do not have to be completed through the DDSB’s AQ program.
NTIP teachers who are on leave for the 2022-2023 school year are not eligible to apply.
