In the Business Studies Department we believe it is important to equip pupils with the ability and skills to deal with the challenges faced by them in the modern business world. To do this we endeavour to provide them with a safe and encouraging learning environment where they are supported and motivated to achieve their best. This approach helps instil the discipline and commitment required, and expected, in the business environment today. As well as Standard Grades and Higher Still we deliver ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) which ensures our pupils have the necessary IT skills to cope with daily life regardless of the career path they choose to follow. The Business Studies Department is your gateway to the world of work and business.
The Computing Studies Department strives to develop confidence and enjoyment in the use of computers. We encourage pupils to develop skills in communication to make them aware of the effect they, as individuals, may have on society. Information Technology is used to complete course work in other subject areas such as Art, Social Subjects and Music. We encourage and support the use of computers in other curricular areas by providing support and resources to departments. Our department focuses on providing skills that contribute to the personal and social development of young individuals.

Business Studies & Computing Science – Opportunities for eLearning.
Within Business and Computing Microsoft Teams have/will be created for each class within the senior phase and for each year group in the BGE. Pupils won’t have to do anything to access these teams bar logging in to GLOW in the usual way and clicking the Teams tile on their launchpad.
To add teams to their launch pad pupils should:
Log in to GLOW
> click ADD
> Click App from library
> Search for “Teams” in the search bar at the top right
> click on the Teams tile.
Teams will now appear on their launchpad for them to access. They will be able to see their teams automatically.
Materials and work will be added to each classes team in due course.
In the meantime, the links below can be used for eLearning and revision:
