Graduation Requirements

The state of Georgia requires that students earn a minimum of 23 credits in the areas below to be eligible for high school graduation.


Note: The above requirements are for high school graduation in the state of Georgia only.  Four-Year College admission requirements may vary.  For example, most colleges require two credits of the same foreign language.

3 AP or Dual Enrollment credits or 2 certificate completions from CCI

Fine Arts Seal

3 Visual Art, Band, Chorus, or Drama credits: 2 in the same discipline

Foreign Language Seal

3 credits of the same foreign language taken in high school

CTAE Seal

CTAE Pathway completion, or Work Based Learning completion

Cords, Stoles, Medals, Etc.

Each organization (club/society) has their own requirements for cords and other graduation regalia. Students need to contact organization sponsors regarding graduation regalia requirements. Only school recognized organizations’ regalia can be worn at graduation. Outside club/organization cords, stoles, etc. can not be worn during the ceremony.

Do I need to take foreign language to graduate?

No, foreign language is not required for graduation but most 4-year colleges require two credits of foreign language for admission.

Is there any class that can waive the Health/Personal Fitness requirement?

Yes.  Three credits of JROTC can waive the Health/Personal Fitness requirement.

Is there any standardized testing required for graduation?

All students must take and End of Course Exam (EOC) at the completion of Algebra, Biology, American Literature, and US History.  The EOC will average as a percentage of the student's overall grade in the class.   

Do I need community service hours to graduate?

No. There is no community service requirement for graduation.
