In DCSD, one of our four pillars of a DCSD Highly Effective library is for the librarian to work on and achieve the Highly Effective Schools Through Libraries (HESTL) credentials through the Colorado Department of Education. The program has a dual purpose:
To recognize outstanding school library programs and school library professionals.
To provide guidance in school librarianship best practices.
Below, are the current library staff members who have achieved this honor and the evidence they provided to the state, with the support of their building administrators. All recipients are honored annually at an April board meeting.
