ELEMENTARY LIBRARY RESOURCES

We have prepared K-6th library lesson plans for our elementary school librarians to use that focus on the following:  Basic library skills, Colorado Academic Standards,  DCSD Priority Learning Outcomes, American Association of School Librarian standards, The International Society for Technology in Education library standards, Colorado Essential Skills, Information literacy, Digital literacy, Media Literacy, and more.

School librarians are encourage to use these lessons and adapt them to the needs of your school library program.  If you have any questions, please reach out to the DLMC team @ dlmc-questions@dcsdk12.org

Benchmark and Benchmark Advanced - Trade Book Lists

The DLMC has prepared lists of books that can be alternative options for the suggested trade book lists suggested in the program.  Many of the books have very old copyright dates and some are no longer published.  You probably have books that will work just fine already on the shelf  in your libraries, or you can check out book bags per unit from the DLMC if a teacher would like to use ours.

To reserve a Benchmark Book Bag - search Benchmark in Destiny and make sure the District Library Media Center box is checked.

The DLMC has several of the books on this list available to circulate to schools.  You can find all titles on the list but be sure to look at column F to see if we have copies of the title you are needing.  Wonders Spreadsheet
