Band Booster parents, adult family members, and friends are all welcome to enjoy complimentary wine, whiskey, and charcuterie while shopping a beautiful local store. Best of all, 10% of all purchases made during the event will be donated to the DCHS Band Boosters, making it an easy and enjoyable way to support our students while supporting a local business.
July 11: A HUGE shoutout to Kevin Cox for taking his personal vacation time to travel to California to pick up the new pit and concert percussion instruments the Band Boosters purchased for the marching, concert, and jazz bands and driving them all the way back to Colorado! We're looking forward to hearing them on the stage and on the field this upcoming school year!
July 15: What would we do without our treasurer, Jeremy Snook? THANK YOU for keeping our books up to date, preparing our tax documentation, and for the many hours you spend behind the scenes making sure the budgets are running smoothly and everything is financially in order. We appreciate you so much!
July 19: Thank you to Carrie Cox for reserving the Chick-fil-A parking lot for our fundraiser well in advance so that we can kick off our season strong with a team-building fundraiser! And thank you also for providing some snacks for the kids while they're there! Thank you also to Tom Barnes, Hali Shepard, and Christie Gallen for providing the parental support to our students and keeping the car wash assembly line working smoothly!
July 25: Shout out to the parents in the parade crew today that made sure our students were hydrated and their blood sugar was regulated! Nikki Barnett, Christie Gallen, Hali Shepard, and Kevin Cox- you are all rock stars! Thank you for being in the parade with the students today and making sure they were well taken care of!
HOT OFF THE PRESS

The DCHS Huskie Pride Marching Band made their 2026 debut today at the Douglas County Fair Parade in downtown Castle Rock. You can tell they have been working hard all week at band camp! They looked and sounded so good! We're so excited for the season ahead!

The DCHS Huskie Pride Marching Band began the season on the right note with our annual Car Wash fundraiser at the Chick-fil-A parking lot! Our drum major and a small group of students led the way with their enthusiasm, encouraging a steady stream of community members to get in line for the car wash. Remaining students and parents formed an assembly line to pre-wash, wash, rinse, and dry the cars until they were sparkling clean.
The car wash efforts brought in $662 in new funds!
That's a great start to an incredible season!
Way to go, Huskies!
2026 Marching Band Camp begins on Tuesday, July 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Douglas County High School North Parking Lot. Camp will run July 21 through July 24 and continue again July 27 through July 31.
Please make sure your student comes prepared each day with a water bottle, lunch, and sunscreen. Students will not have enough time during the lunch break to leave campus, so they should plan to bring a packed lunch with them each day.
We can't wait to get the season started and see our students working together, building friendships, and creating an amazing show!
FIRST WEEK: The first week of marching band will be all about getting to know our new band director, Salvador Hernandez! He is thrilled to be joining us this year, and his excitement and enthusiasm are already contagious. We are so excited for the season ahead and all of the incredible experiences our students will have as part of the marching band program.
During the first week, students will begin learning the music for the Douglas County Fair Parade while building the foundations for a successful season. They will focus on marching together, keeping time, and memorizing their music as they prepare for their first performance.
DOUGLAS COUNTY FAIR PARADE: The marching band will have their first performance at the Douglas County Fair Parade in downtown Castle Rock on Saturday, July 25th. We'll meet in the Safeway parking lot at 8:30am in front of Papa Murphy's Pizza to warm up and get ready for the parade. After warm up, the DCHS band has close ties to the Castle View marching band and we'll meet to mingle with them in the Wells Fargo parking lot, take group photos, and get ready to delight the crowd with some pep tunes.
SECOND WEEK: This week the students will begin working on their competition show music and drill. It's a lot of rewarding work and the students start creating stronger bonds as they work together.
NEW PARENT ORIENTATION: We know starting marching band can feel like a lot, but don't worry! We've all been there, and we're here to help!
Join us on Monday, July 27 at 8:00 a.m. for our New Parent Orientation to get your New Parent Guide, connect to our parent communication app, meet other band families, and learn who to contact when questions come up.
Our goal is to help you feel confident, connected, and ready for an amazing season. We can't wait to welcome you to the band family!
We'll see you all soon!
