The staff of the Douglas County High School Band Programs are one of the most important attributes to the students' success. Our staff are very talented musicians and performers in the Denver Metro area. They have years of experience dedicated towards passing their knowledge on to young musicians. Kyle Rausch has been the proud marching band director at Douglas County High School since 2022. Before joining the DCHS community, he taught at Falcon Bluffs Middle School and served as the Director of Instrumental Music at Columbine High School. A graduate of Kansas State University, Kyle brings a wealth of musical and leadership experience to the program—including time spent marching with the renowned Troopers and Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps.
Beyond the podium, Kyle is a devoted husband and father, a Boy Scouts leader known for pulling off wild BMX stunts at camp, and a passionate educator who pours his heart into every student he teaches. His love for music is matched only by his commitment to helping young musicians grow in confidence, skill, and spirit. With big dreams for the future of our program, Kyle is determined to lead us to the next level, making sure our organization doesn’t just succeed, but shines.
Robby Stroup joined Douglas County High School as our Color Guard Instructor in 2024, bringing fresh energy, artistry, and precision to the program. A student of Arizona State University, Robby has an impressive performance background, including marching with the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps and currently performing with Oracle Performance Ensemble—a Colorado-based nonprofit that blends color guard with modern and contemporary dance.
Robby is passionate about helping students grow both as performers and individuals. His creativity and dedication shine through in every rehearsal, and his unique blend of technical skill and artistic vision continues to elevate our color guard to new heights.

Josh Galerstein joined Douglas County High School as Orchestra Director in 2024. He has been teaching in the greater Denver, Colorado area for 6 years, with previous teaching posts for band and orchestra in the Cherry Creek School District and Adams 12 Five Star Schools. At DC, Mr. Galerstein directs the string orchestra program, as well as conducts the spring musical and serves as an Assistant Director for the DC Huskie Pride Marching Band.
Outside of education, Josh performs professionally as a tubist with bands and orchestras throughout the Colorado front range. His freelance experience includes work with the Arapahoe Philharmonic, Longmont Symphony, and Colorado Wind Ensemble, among others. His primary Tuba teachers are Dan Perantoni, David Zerkel, and Don Strand.
Mr. Galerstein holds degrees in Music Education and Tuba Performance from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. Outside of music, Mr Galerstein enjoys learning to cook dishes from around the world, spending time outdoors hiking and camping, and cheering on his hometown Atlanta, Georgia sports teams.
