(Join us to support our students as often as you can as your availability allows. Sign up sheets for these positions are sent in advance of events.)
Chaperones (3-4 per competition): Stay with and supervise students during band competitions. (Must be background checked by the district). Carry essential first aid and uniform repair for your assigned group of students.
Prop Creation: Build props for the show under the direction of the Prop Creation Lead. Building usually begins in the summer with some modifications throughout the marching season.
Pit Crew/Equipment Crew (25 people per performance): Loads, unloads, and sets up instruments and props at performances. Perks: You get to see the show up close and personal from the sidelines.
DCMI Volunteers: Our biggest fundraiser wouldn't be possible without every family filling at least 2 4-hour shifts the Douglas County Marching Invitational. Come be a part of Colorado's largest marching band competition and fund the success of our kids' marching program. Parking lot attendants, ticket and t-shirt sales, concessions, and first-aid- there is an opportunity to fit every family's schedule and talents.
Event Set-Up/Set-Down and Food Preparation: These volunteers aid the Event Coordinator to set up events, prepare and serve food, and clean up so that we can continue to celebrate our students and build a strong sense of community among our families.
Recruiting Hype Squad (3-7 parents): Attend feeder concerts at the elementary and middle schools and incoming Freshman meetings to answer questions from interested students and their parents. Share positive experiences of how the band has helped your student and/or your family. Make new families feel welcome in our organization.
