Code Knowledge Intervention
Code Knowledge Intervention (CKI) is for students who can't yet say the words on the page: can't decode text. This systematic, explicit intervention is designed to accelerate code learning so that students can become independent readers. CKI is part of a system of assessment-driven interventions to support students learning to read in an RtI model. Click the CKI button below for a link to resources for teachers trained in CKI. Resources include a Program Map of skills and video of lesson plans.
Workshop participants receive a diagnostic assessment, progress-monitoring tool, lesson plans, and three days of workshop. Participants' districts will be charged for the cost of CKI materials: a book and set of manipulative letter and word cards.
