The Humble Beginning
Valuing the value proposition, WE CARE.
All the accomplishments and triumphs that DCCCO Multipurpose Cooperative has reaped came from one compassionate vision and a meager amount of P1,181.50.
The Dumaguete Cathedral Credit Union or DCCU was conceived through the initiatives of the late founders, with a simple commitment to liberate a group of parents from the clutches of loan sharks and to give them and their children the chance for a more dignified living.
Dumaguete Cathedral Credit Union now known as DCCCO Multipurpose Cooperative was organized on February 17, 1968, with parents, teachers, and the faculty as first members.
The cooperative has grown from a small corner space for free in the Principal’s Office and Physical Education Office of Dumaguete Cathedral College (DCC) to an office space in the Cathedral compound in 1977. DCCCO made a bold move to build its first member-owned building at Sta. Rosa St., Dumaguete City, which on July 27, 2002, was inaugurated and opened to accommodate the increasing membership. Since then, the visible development of DCCCO has been felt by the community.
