A. S. Lamba

He had been a faculty member at Department of Economics, Deshbandhu College since December 1977. He did his Bachelors in Mathematics from Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, University of Delhi in 1975 and Masters in Economics from Delhi School of Economics in 1977. His teaching subjects included Micro-Economic Theory, International Economics, Econometrics, Mathematical Methods for Economics, Statistics, Financial Economics and Macro-Economics.

Besides being an accomplished teacher, he served to the college with different Administrative Assignments including Teacher-in-Charge of the department and College Bursar for many years. After more than 43 years of academic and administrative services, he superannuated in the year 2021.

Dr. T. M. Thomas

He is former faculty member of the Department of Economics, Deshbandhu College, University of Delhi. He joined Deshbandhu College in September 1974. He taught many subjects including Statistical Methods, International Trade, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Global Political Economy, Economics of Health and Education, National Income Accounting and Public Finance. After 42 years of academic service he superannuated in March 2017. After Deshbandhu College, he joined as Professor at the Department of Commerce (teaching Economics subjects), Akal University, Talwandi Sabo, Batinda, Punjab.

He did his graduation in Economics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi in 1972, Masters in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, Delhi in 1974. After that he did P. G. Diploma in Computer Applications from Alagappa University Tamil Nadu in 1992 and completed his P.hD. from Punjab University, Chandigarh in 2002. In addition, he published many research articles on the topics related to urbanization, industrialization and disparities in India. He also served in many committees/societies of the college.

Dr. Iqbal Singh

He had been a faculty member at Department of Economics, Deshbandhu College since 1990 to 2015 (Lecturer – 1990 to 1992, Senior Lecturer – 1992 to 1998, Reader/Selection Grade – 1998 to 2006, and Associate Professor – 2006 to 2015). He did his Bachelors and Masters in Economics from Punjab University, Chandigarh in 1975 and 1978, and Ph.D. in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi in 1986. His teaching subjects included Development Theory and Experience, Economic History of India, Indian Economy, Basic Mathematics and Statistics, Classical Political economy and Political Economy of Development.

Besides being a great teacher, he served to the college in different societies and associations. He was awarded many fellowships including Visiting Fellow, International Development Centre (QEH), University of Oxford, U.K.; ICSSR General Fellow, and UGC Junior and Senior Research Fellow. In addition, he also published many research articles in the field of Agriculture Economics. After around 25 years of academic and administrative services, he superannuated in the year 2015. After Deshbandhu College, he joined Department of Economics, Akal University, Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda as Professor.

Dr. Ashok Gulati

Dr. Ashok Gulati is a well known Indian agricultural economist. For his contribution to the field, he was honored with the Padma Shri, a high Indian civilian award, by the President of India in 2015.

His research centers around issues related to agriculture and food security, agri-trade and agri-value chains, crop insurance, subsidies, sustainability and poverty alleviation.

He was Lecturer (Assistant Professor) from 1975 to 1985 and as Reader (Associate Professor) from 1985 to 1986 at Deshbandhu College, University of Delhi,.

After Deshbandhu College, he joined as Chair Professor for Agriculture at Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), New Delhi.
