Hello, EV Families,
I wanted to take a minute to thank YOU! Thank you for allowing our East View staff and myself the opportunity to support, motivate, teach, inspire, and LOVE your precious children day in and out here at school. We truly strive to do what's best for each Shining Sun! We believe that every child has the ability to learn, grow, and get better every day... and we will continue to push forth that effort by learning and growing ourselves as the leaders of this building!
We hope each and every Shining Sun has a family-filled, safe, fun, restful Thanksgiving Break, and comes back Monday, December 2nd ~ Ready to Learn, Ready to Lead, and Ready to show Solar Pride!

Weekly Family Leader in Me Tip
Continuing our work in making Wildly Important Goals
This week, your student will learn to lead ourselves by choosing action steps that will help them reach their goals and learning how to keep track of those action steps. We also worked with an Accountability Partner who will help keep us on track to reach our goals! Use the Four Dimensions Personal Goals Worksheet and choose a Personal Goal. Invite your child to be your Accountability Partner!

Homework can sometimes present a challenge for families. Last spring, the DCPS Family Advisory Council suggested that DCPS offer support virtually to families and students. If you are a DCPS student, you can now access the Homework Helper Monday through Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm via this link.

Our staff and students have been rocking these past two, 5-day school weeks. We are working hard to row, grow, and get better every day! Always moving our East View boat forward in a positive direction!
Just a friendly reminder we have a 2-day week coming! Thanksgiving Break is November 27-29, NO SCHOOL!

Special shout out this coming week to our AfterSchool Crew, Substitutes, and Family Volunteers! Our school would not run as smooth as it does without these indivdiuals who offer their time, effort, and dedication to our staff and students daily! They are each a precious, valued member of our East View Family! We are very blessed to have them! 💚💛
Additionally, thank you to our family veterans and guests who joined Tuesday's Veterans Program. It was such a beautiful program to celebrate and show our deepest gratitudes to our veterans! Hope to see you all again next year!
