Thank you for your dedication to your child and their success here at school!
We want to invite you to nominate one of our AMAZING educators for EVES Teacher of the Year. Click here to complete the form! This teacher will also have the opportunity to be selected as the DCPS Teacher of the Year!

Students need to know we see their worth and potential every day. We can communicate that we sincerely care about them in multiple and repeated ways—a fist bump, looking directly in their eyes, making deposits in their Emotional Bank Account, or listening to them empathically. It’s about being present every time we engage.

Hello, EV Families,
We have strived here at East View to not let germs, sickness, and absences get in the way of learning this week, and I am proud to say we have done just that! With fluctuating numbers of staff and students, we persevered, pushed through, and showed grit to ensure student learning, growth, and success were our highest priority! We also appreciate your communication through the past couple weeks about your child's illness and absent needs. Remember, it takes a VILLAGE, and you are a valued member of this family! The sun shines brightly on East View Elementary School! We've got this! 💛💚
We hope each and every Shining Sun has a wonderful weekend! We will see students on Monday, February 10th ~ Ready to Learn, Ready to Lead, and Ready to show Solar Pride!
We hope to see you soon,
