Center for Career Development (Matthews Center)

ANNUAL REPORT
2022-2023

WELCOME

This year, we focused on a number of strategic commitments  for our work with students, campus partners, employers and diversity, equity and inclusion:

Throughout this report, you will find evidence of our successes in honoring these commitments. Thank you to the Matthews Center team for your creativity and hard work. It is an honor to work with a team of dedicated professionals who understand and value the holistic nature of our mission.

We truly believe that “career development” happens in many spaces beyond the walls of this center. Our work is supported by innumerable partners across campus, Davidson alumni and families and external partners. We are grateful to be part of an institution that supports and prioritizes students in their successful pursuit of meaningful careers.

Purpose

The Matthews Center helps students and alumni navigate their life-long educational and professional pursuits by connecting them with tools, resources, and networks and fostering the development of critical competencies that build on the liberal arts experience. Our work depends on meaningful collaborations with academic and community partners that champion inclusivity and promote the pursuit of lives of leadership and service.

Diversity Statement

We, The Matthews Center for Career Development, are striving to create an inclusive culture that celebrates diverse backgrounds, one where everyone is valued and respected.
