Arriving at Dartmouth
Welcome!
You're Here! Now What?
Detailed, term-specific arrival information will be provided to you in the Welcome Letter that will be sent about three months before the start of your first term at Dartmouth.
That said, generally the following is accurate guidance:
The Office of Residential Life (ResLife)will share information with you about when and where you can pick up your room key and DartCard after your arrival.
Students who arrive in the fall term will arrive along with most other entering students and will be able to participate in campus-wide "move-in" days and some events. The procedures for moving-in will be shared with you before your arrival by the relevant offices.
Students who arrive in the summer, winter, and spring terms will be responsible for moving in more independently.
If arriving during normal business hours: You will be able to visit the ResLife office and pick up your room key and possibly your DartCard
If arriving after normal business hours: Call Campus Safety & Security to let you into your dorm room: 603-646-4000. You will be able to pick up your room key and DartCard when the offices are open.
Campus Billing & DartCard
đMcNutt Hall, first floor
The Campus Billing & DartCard Services office is open Mon-Fri during business hours. You pick up your DartCard there if you did not pick it up with ResLife.
Your DartCard is used for:Â
Identification and accessing residence hallsÂ
Paying for meals through your dining planÂ
Checking out library booksÂ
Attending campus events
Campus Billing provides services for student billing and payment, dining plan management, and provides services for the campus ID card (DartCard).Â
This office manages tools like D-Pay, DA$H discretionary funds, the campus billing and payment system, and GET, the financial system associated with the campus card, to make it easier to manage student finances.
Check in! âď¸
At the beginning of each term students must "check-in" through DartHub to confirm that they are all set administratively. The check-in process becomes available each term the day before classes begin and ends at 11:59 PM on the third day of classes.Â
A student will not be able to check-in if there are any holds on their account that need to be addressed. Students who check-in late will be subject to a $50 fee. If a student does not check-in by the deadline they will become liable for withdrawal from the College.
Some common reasons students may be unable to check-in at first:
Hold on their account due to an outstanding bill
Hold on their account due to incomplete medical/immunization records
It is the student's responsibility to communicate with the relevant offices and make sure any holds are resolved in a timely way. Try to check-in early so that you have adequate time to resolve any issues.
