FIELD DAY

Field Day 2025!!!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Field Day will be on Tuesday, May 27th, 2025 . We will be having a Halloween in May Theme this year. Wear your favorite costume and get ready for some fun activities! 

Please wear your gym shoes and NOT sandals or flip flops.

We are very appreciative of parent volunteers as well. If you want to help with the day please login to VolunteerSpot at:

If you are coming for the day please sign in at the main office or at one of the sign in tables outside, either at the South playground area for lunch or North baseball fields for the fun activities. You will need to sign a Confidentiality Agreement as well Click the LINK. It will be provided when you come into sign. Also, please review our Parents Volunteer Tip Sheet below.

Lunch will be like any normal Mark DeLay lunch except we will be eating them outside, weather permitting. Please pack a lunch or order a hot lunch as you would normally do.

The schedule for when students will be out for their field day events is below:

Tuesday, May 27th, 2025

Station Schedule:

Kindergarten: 8:50-10:20

1st Grade: 10:20-11:50

2nd Grade: 12:50-2:20

Lunch Schedule:

Kindergarten: 11:30-12:00

2nd Grade: 12:00-12:30

1st Grade: 12:30-1:00

TIP SHEET

Dear  Parents:

Thank you for spending some time with us.  To help make your experience a great day, please review the following information.

1. Please bring your driver’s license and arrive BEFORE your scheduled time.

2. Respect confidentiality.  We will ask that you sign a confidentiality agreement when you arrive. ­ We have almost 500 students whose needs vary greatly. There’s a wide range of learning abilities/needs as well as social/emotional needs.  Your observations of children during Field Day must remain here.  It is inappropriate to discuss other children after your day interacting with students. Thank you in advance for your respect for confidentiality.

3. Don’t assume that children understand all directions.  We have many different languages spoken in our building.  Be patient with them and be prepared to repeat and clarify.

4. For your own protection:

   1. Please do not grab/hold or push students

   2. Use the staff washroom in the office or down the long hall by the gym (private bathroom between the girls/boys bathrooms... do not using the student washrooms

5. Be enthusiastic and encouraging with students.... Provide plenty of positive feedback.  Look for opportunities to compliment students that exhibit kind/caring behaviors towards others.  Redirect negative behaviors, encourage those individuals to consider their actions and make positive choices.

6. Do not use cell phones while volunteering with students.

7. Do not take pictures of students while you are here.  Some parents have signed waivers stating they do not want their child’s picture taken.

8. Look for help when needed from the teacher or a staff member.

9. Have fun, smile and ... enjoy our students, we have great ones!
