County Chorus

Festivals

Students in Chamber or Concert Choir are eligible to audition for the Columbia-Montour High School County Chorus Festival and PMEA District 8 Chorus. These festivals are a great opportunity for advanced students to participate and sing with students from other area schools, and work with conductors from various colleges and universities. Interested students should see the requirements and details below.

Columbia - Montour County Chorus

Eligibility:

Choir Students Grades 9-12

Students must audition for placement into the festival choir. Auditions are the Monday after Fair Week, in the evening at Central Columbia High School. Students who rank high enough to be placed in the ensemble will learn festival music with Mrs. Pritchard and participate in a 2-day event in November.

PMEA Festivals: Districts, Regions and All-State

Eligibility:

Choir Students Grades 10-12

All PMEA Festivals are sponsored by the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association. Students must audition for placement into each of the festivals, starting with the District level. Once accepted in the District festivals, students can advance through Regions, to All-State by successful audition at each juncture.
