The project will carry out several data maturity assessments with school and college partners to evaluate their usefulness and relevance to the education sector. The frameworks to be explored will be the;
Data Orchard data assessment for non-profit organisations. This tool developed in 2016 aims to help organisations understand how well they are doing with data by developing assessment against seven themes: Uses; Data; Analysis; Leadership; Culture; Tools and Skills. Already in use by several large organisations including the Scottish government.
Data Maturity Assessment (DMA) for Government Framework. The DMA has ten topics which are important for data maturity in all organisations, and specifically in the government/the public sector.
Diagnostic tools have the potential to provide frameworks to support leaders to;
Understand, initiate and deliver data strategies and
Develop insight into the various data roles required within their organisations to support their data ambitions
To make informed decisions regarding data roles to ensure alignment with evolving needs and requirements.
