This project supports the CDDO ‘Roadmap for Digital and Data; ‘to transform public services, deliver world-class technology and attract and retain the best digital talent’.
To explore frameworks that can be developed to create clearer, more effective career pathways and CPD opportunities for those in data roles in the education sector.
To explore 4 themes;
Theme 1: Data Survey: Develop insight of the existing landscape regards skills, roles, careers pathways and qualifications with a view to developing best practice models and bench-marking data.
Theme 2: Data Maturity: Work with leaders in education to assess the usefulness of diagnostic tools to support evaluation of data maturity that can then support strategic decision-making regarding staffing structures and roles.
Theme 3: Data Skills: Explore data skills frameworks and their usefulness to support the development of qualifications for those in data roles
Theme 4: Data Hubs: Explore existing professional development frameworks available to other business professionals in the sector to assess how such frameworks could be used for those in data roles
Throughout my career, I've witnessed a profound transformation in the technologies, attitudes, and culture associated with using data in the education sector. Along the way, I've had the privilege of collaborating with passionate and inspiring individuals in the field of data who have imparted invaluable knowledge and supported me in my career.
This project holds significant meaning for me because it provides Data Professionals like us with an opportunity to actively contribute to and inform thinking at the DfE. Together, we can advocate the future development of professional pathways that align with the future needs of those in data roles within our sector. This is especially crucial in these times of both excitement and challenge, amid the ongoing digital transformation era.
