I hope you and your family have had a wonderful summer filled with time to relax, have fun, and make lasting memories. We are excited to welcome our students back for another great school year and look forward to partnering with you to help every child learn, grow, and succeed.
It is an honor to serve York Township Elementary as your principal. After spending the past four years as the assistant principal, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue serving this amazing school community in a new role. York Township has always felt like home to me, and I am excited to continue building strong relationships with our students, families, and staff.
At York Township, we are committed to educating the whole child. While academic growth is a priority, we also believe that helping students develop socially, emotionally, and behaviorally is essential to their success. Through our YT3 expectations, Respectful, Responsible, and Safe, we strive to create a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to do their best.
Our dedicated staff brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and passion to our classrooms each day. They create engaging learning experiences, build meaningful relationships with students, and are committed to helping every child reach their full potential. They are excited to welcome our students back and begin another wonderful year of learning together.

Car Rider Information
Car Rider Information
To help ensure a safe and efficient arrival and dismissal for all students, please take a few moments to review our car rider procedures before the first day of school.
Car rider arrival and dismissal take place on the side of the building, accessed from Merrin Road off Leader Heights Road. Please follow the established traffic pattern and pull as far forward as possible into one of the two lanes. During morning arrival (8:30–8:50 a.m.), students must remain in their vehicles until staff members are present and direct them to exit. Even if you arrive at 8:30 a.m., students may not leave their vehicles until a staff member is outside to supervise. If you arrive after 8:50 a.m., please park in the front parking lot, walk your child into the building, and sign them in at the office.
Each car rider family will receive two vehicle tags displaying a unique family number, and each child will receive a matching backpack tag. Vehicle tags are only required for afternoon dismissal. During dismissal (3:25–3:40 p.m.), please display your car rider tag in the driver's side window or visor and remain in your vehicle. Students will be dismissed in the order vehicles arrive and will enter vehicles from the driver's side. For everyone's safety, please remain in line and do not pull around other vehicles.
If your child will be a car rider in the afternoon, the office must receive a transportation change from a parent or legal guardian by 2:00 p.m. We accept a written note, an email to YTcarriders@dallastown.net (please copy your child's classroom teacher), or a phone call to the office. Transportation changes cannot be accepted from students. Anyone displaying your family's car rider tag may pick up your child, so please share these procedures with anyone who may be picking up your child.
The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority. Thank you for partnering with us by following these procedures and helping us provide a safe, smooth, and efficient arrival and dismissal process each day. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.

Choose Love
Choose Love
Our school, along with the other K-3 buildings in the district, will be incorporating fun, engaging Learning Through Play activities and a program called Choose Love for Schools, which plays an important role in promoting students' social and emotional well-being and academic and personal success. It also enhances our classroom and school climate, making it a place where students are safe, compassionate, connected, and able to thrive.
The Choose Love for Schools Program is a comprehensive curriculum that supports, nurtures, and fosters the whole child. Students will learn skills and tools they will use throughout their lives to be honest, trustworthy, caring and compassionate, self-disciplined, intellectually curious, fair, and respectful.
Students learn how to thoughtfully respond by choosing love. The program’s foundation is a formula: Courage + Gratitude + Forgiveness + Compassion in Action = Choosing Love. We use courage daily to choose love over fear. Practicing gratitude helps us focus on what we have. Forgiveness is the key to healthy relationships, and compassion in action helps us connect with and help others.
We hope you will share in this journey with your children, asking questions about what they have learned and enjoying the benefits of the program as well. Please check out the Choose Love At Home Program for families and caregivers. You can learn alongside your children and incorporate these skills and tools to promote Social and Emotional Learning in your home, and even within yourself! www.chooselovemovement.org.

Summer Reading
Summer Reading
This summer, our students have the opportunity to participate in the YT Summer Library Reading Adventure. Students who complete the summer reading activities (linked below) can earn a reward! Please return all papers to Mrs. Roberto by September 8th.
Reading activity papers were sent home the last week of school, or can be found here. Printed copies are also available in the school office by request.
