Last year, students engaged in "R.I.S.E." period as part of their daily schedules. This year, in order to provide consistency with the DAIS and DAHS student experience, we are changing the name of the "R.I.S.E." class period to "C.A.R.E.S."  C.A.R.E.S. stands for "compassionate, accountable, respectful, ethical, and service-minded." While the name is changing, the purpose of the class remains the same as last year: during this time, students receive academic support and enrichment and build a sense of community and belonging with their section/class and their team. We will also use this time to review school expectations to ensure a respectful and safe environment for all in our building. During C.A.R.E.S. periods, students will return to each core class/teacher once per cycle (4 out of 6 days). On the days they do not have C.A.R.E.S., they will have Phys. Ed. on their schedule. 

Please join us on August 15th from 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm for our open house. This is a great opportunity for students to walk the halls and find their classrooms before the first day of school. While most teachers will not be available for this event, they will be available on our Meet the Teacher Night (see below). During our open house, our administrators and counselors will be present to greet you! Additionally, we will have some student leaders present to help students locate their classrooms.
