DALLASTOWN AREA HIGH SCHOOL

Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!  We're so excited to begin another year at DAHS.  This summer, our building has received fresh paint in the halls, new bulletin boards for staffulty (staff and faculty) and student recognition, and areas around the building to foster class spirit and friendly competition.  We're excited to begin the second year of our Fiercely Committed mantra, working to give every student, teacher, and community member a connection to DAHS and DASD.

Throughout the year, we'll grow our C.A.R.E.S recognition through ideas generated by our Rennaissance group of staffulty and students.  We'll work to continue increasing our school spirit through pep rallies, spirit weeks, and class competitions. We'll also work to decrease our absenteeism rates by making connections with students and teachers and focusing on the needs of the individual student.

High school is an exciting four years, but it can also be stressful at times.  Our entire staffulty is dedicated to ensuring each student is inspired and on a pathway for success.  Counselors and teachers support each student in their classes, in clubs, and in various activities.  We encourage each student to join an activity, make a new friend, and have a wonderful year.

We look forward to spending the 2024-2025 school year with each and every one of you!

This event is open to all incoming 9th-grade students and any new students to DASD in grades 9-12. Doors to the high school's main entrance will open at 5:45 pm and the event will begin promptly at 6:00 pm.

The event will begin in the high school auditorium with welcoming remarks by high school principal Dr. Wilson.  Guests will then participate in a self-guided "scavenger hunt" of the high school, where they will learn about the programs, opportunities, and some basic procedures of the high school community while also becoming familiar with the high school footprint. Student Drivers & Parking

All students who have a valid Driver’s License and plan to drive to school and park a vehicle on campus during the 2024-2025 school year need to register and pay for a DAHS parking permit. Before registering for your parking permit, please review the school board policy (223 and 223-AR-1) regarding the use of motor vehicles on campus. It is your responsibility to abide by the expectations set forth within this policy.

Students cannot use a parking permit from the previous year(s). To register for a 2024-2025 school year parking permit, you must fill out the Google form here. You need to be logged into your DASD Google account to access this form.

Pay the $15 parking permit fee through My School Bucks. You can find a link to pay the fee here. Online payment is preferred, but if necessary, cash payment may be submitted to the high school main office beginning Monday, August 19, 2024.

Once you have filled out the Google form and paid the $15 fee; we will secure a parking permit.  Parking permits will be distributed through your student's homeroom teacher on the first day of school. If you have filled out the form and paid the fee before the first day of school (or have the check/cash payment to drop off on the morning of the first day), then you may drive to school on the first day; for all subsequent days, you must have a valid parking permit displayed in your vehicle to exercise the privilege of driving to and parking on campus.

Parking permits are to be displayed from the rear-view mirror and face out so it is easily visible. All students must park only in designated student parking areas (Large Student Parking Lot & Parking Spots on Tennis Court Hill). Those not parking in the correct designated area may receive a parking ticket and have to pay a fine.  Driving to school and parking on campus is a privilege. Students who do not follow procedures by failing to obtain a current 2024-2025 student parking permit, failing to visibly display the permit, or parking in spaces not designated for students, may receive a parking ticket from the school district or lose campus parking privileges.

Dallastown Cat Packs

“Down and Dirty” - The Remix!

The Dallastown Cat Packs program supports students across the district with food and other items during times when school is not in session (ex: weekends, long breaks).  As a Non-Profit Organization, Cat Packs relies on food and monetary donations from the community, as well as one large fundraiser each year, in order to provide weekly "Cat Packs" for Dallastown families in need.  Cat Pack's biggest fundraiser, Down & Dirty, is coming soon!

Join family and friends on Saturday, September 14th, beginning at 9a, for this fun event where teams of five compete in twelve muddy, wet, and silly challenges. All proceeds from this event will benefit Dallastown Cat Packs and allow them to continue their mission of making sure that no child in our District goes without food and other necessary items when school is not in session.  Gather your team and register quickly, as there are a limited number of slots available for teams for this fun and muddy day.  Registration is complete when teams have completed all forms and submitted payment. Get creative!  There will be awards for the best costumes!

Want to be involved in this great community event, without the mud?  Many volunteers are needed to make this event successful.  Please see the links below for adult and student volunteers.  All volunteers may also participate (volunteers will be given priority when selecting their event time).  Please see the FAQ link for more event information.

Dallastown Cat Packs is super excited for this awesome event, and looks forward to a day full of fun for our Dallastown Community for a great cause!
