Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! We're so excited to start another year at DAHS. We've worked hard the past few years to establish our Fiercely Committed identity around the school and community, and we're excited to continue with that this year. Inspired by author and speaker, Thomas C. Murray, we'll be asking everyone, "How will YOU be remembered?" Will it be your dedication to academics, a club, how you treated students and staffulty around you, or something you haven't thought of yet? We cannot wait to remember YOU for you!
Last year, the Class of 2027 completed a repeat crowning of our Greatest Class Ever competition. We look forward to the friendly class competitions, where points are earned through good grades, perfect attendance, participation in spirit weeks, and pep rally competitions. Watching our students showcase their school spirit is a great way to highlight their fierce commitment.
High school is an exciting four years, but it can also be stressful at times. Our entire staffulty is dedicated to ensuring each student is inspired and on a pathway for success. Counselors and teachers support each student in their classes, in clubs, and in various activities. We encourage each student to join an activity, make a new friend, and have a wonderful year.

We are thrilled to introduce our newest educational leader, who embodies our Fiercely Committed spirit through and through! Mr. Lane will be working with our families with last names A–Ja, focusing on student interventions, and serving as the administrator of the Performing Arts, Business, and Math departments.
He has a profound passion for student success and a genuine gift for supporting staff. He is highly skilled at fostering collaboration, developing cutting-edge programs, and helping staff grow their departments. Mr. Lane is an innovative, student-centered leader who brings a wealth of knowledge and over 28 years of experience in education to our district. He most recently served as the Principal of Mill Creek High School in Gwinnett County, Georgia, where he masterfully oversaw a massive campus of over 4,000 students and 300 faculty and staff before a second high school was built, reducing his building to 2,800 students (And we thought DAHS was big!). He recently "retired" from Georgia, but his passion for education kept calling him back. Mr. Lane is eager to be fiercely committed to doing everything possible to help others find success.
We are incredibly confident that Mr. Lane’s background in creating exceptional learning environments will greatly benefit our students, staff, and entire DAHS community. He is ready to hit the ground running and prove just how fiercely committed he is to Dallastown.

This is an opportunity for new students at Dallastown Area High School (including members of the incoming freshmen Class of 2030) to explore the school with a student guide. The tour will emphasize the new student’s actual schedule. Additionally, this is an excellent opportunity to learn about the high school experience from a resident expert!

This event is open to all incoming 9th-grade students and any new students to DASD in grades 9-12. Doors to the high school's main entrance will open at 5:45 pm, and the event will begin promptly at 6:00 pm.
The event will begin in the high school auditorium with welcoming remarks by the principal, Dr. Wilson. Guests will then participate in a self-guided "scavenger hunt" around the high school, where they will learn about the programs, opportunities, and basic procedures of the high school community while also becoming familiar with its footprint. Participants will need a cell phone with a QR code reader app or a digital camera capable of scanning QR codes.
All student participants will be eligible for a raffle drawing upon completing and submitting a post-event digital survey.
We look forward to seeing our 9th graders and new students on August 12 and to developing strong relationships as we journey with each student on their pathway to success!

Student Drivers & Parking
All students who have a valid Driver’s License and plan to drive to school and park a vehicle on campus during the 2026-2027 school year need to register and pay for a DAHS parking permit. Before registering for your parking permit, please review the school board policy (223 and 223-AR-1) regarding the use of motor vehicles on campus. It is your responsibility to abide by the expectations set forth within this policy.
Students cannot use a parking permit from the previous year(s). To register for a 2026-2027 school year parking permit, you must fill out the Google form here. You need to be logged into your DASD Google account to access this form.
Pay the $15 parking permit fee through My School Bucks. You can find a link to pay the fee HERE. Online payment is preferred, but if necessary, cash payment may be submitted to the high school main office beginning Thursday, August 20, 2026.
Once you have filled out the Google form and paid the $15 fee, a parking permit will be distributed through your student's homeroom teacher on the first day of school. If you have filled out the form and paid the fee before the first day of school (or have the check/cash payment to drop off on the morning of the first day), then you may drive to school on the first day; for all subsequent days, you must have a valid parking permit displayed in your vehicle to exercise the privilege of driving to and parking on campus.
Parking permits are to be displayed from the rear-view mirror and face out so it is easily visible. All students must park only in designated student parking areas (Large Student Parking Lot & Parking Spots on Tennis Court Hill). Those not parking in the correct designated area may receive a parking ticket and have to pay a fine. Driving to school and parking on campus is a privilege. Students who do not follow procedures by failing to obtain a current 2026-2027 student parking permit, failing to visibly display the permit, or parking in spaces not designated for students may receive a parking ticket from the school district or lose campus parking privileges.

Picture Day will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026
All students, including cyber, dual enrollment, work release, and late arrival, are encouraged to have their pictures taken, regardless of whether they intend to purchase a picture package.
School pictures are used in our yearbook and for student ID cards, which may be required for various school and non-school events.
Look for picture information to come home from your student. If your student is absent on September 10th or does not like their picture from that day, the picture retake is on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 7:00 am to 10:30 am in the back gym lobby area.
* Cyber, dual enrollment, work release, and late arrival students can arrive between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm on September 10, 2026, to have their photo taken or on retake day, October 23, 2026, between 7:00 am and 10:30 am.
