Please continue to document the subject area, the specific assignment(s), and the approximate amount of time your child spends completing it at home. Sharing these details will provide us with valuable insight into the student experience and allow us to more accurately evaluate the situation.
Please note that any work students are asked to complete at home should not exceed one hour total across all subjects. We are working diligently to ensure that students have sufficient independent time during the school day to complete their assignments, and your feedback will help us strengthen that effort.

In 5th grade, we pride ourselves in preparing our students for middle school. You can expect the curriculum to be rigorous and challenging. Students are expected to come to school ready to be engaged and put forth their best effort. We encourage students to develop autonomy and self-advocacy.
5th grade works hard!
We understand the value of time with families and that our students have a lot of extracurricular activities. For that reason, we do not assign homework. Students are given time in class to complete their work. If they are bringing a significant amount of work home, then it is because they did not use their class time appropriately, or they may need a little extra help that you can provide.
Each class has signature projects that we are so excited for every year. Each project will have its own set of expectations that will be communicated upfront and throughout the duration of the project. This includes how much time will be allocated both in class and at home.
