Past Announcements:
Reset Ticket Implementation Notification:
In alignment with our school-wide policy, the 5th Grade Team will be consistently enforcing the use of Reset Tickets to support student focus on both academics and classroom behavior. This process is designed to help minimize disruptions and ensure that students use instructional time effectively.
Reset Tickets will be issued in the following areas:
Behavioral Focus – Classroom disruptions (such as talking or other off-task behaviors).
Academic Focus – Failure to complete or submit work on time.
The process will follow this progression:
First Warning – Verbal warning.
Second Warning – Reset Ticket issued.
Third Reset Ticket – After-school session assigned.
3rd Behavior Ticket → After-School Reset Session
3rd Academic Ticket → Study Hall
Additional Consequences:
Accumulating two After-School Resets (behavior-related) or two Study Halls (academic-related) within a 9-week period will result in a required meeting with the parent/guardian and the principal to create a behavior or academic improvement plan.
Our goal with this system is to reinforce responsibility, reduce classroom distractions, and increase the amount of work completed during the school day. We ask for your partnership at home in encouraging students to stay on task and use their time productively.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to ensure the success of every student.
Sincerely,
The 5th Grade Team
Student Workload Notification:
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are aware of the concerns regarding the length of time students are spending on assignments at home, and we are working to better understand the situation. At this time, it has been challenging to determine the underlying cause, and your partnership would be greatly appreciated as we gather more information.
To assist us, we respectfully ask that you document the subject area, the specific assignment(s), and the approximate amount of time your child spends completing it at home. Sharing these details will provide us with valuable insight into the student experience and allow us to more accurately evaluate the situation.
Please note that any work students are asked to complete at home should not exceed one hour total across all subjects. We are working diligently to ensure that students have sufficient independent time during the school day to complete their assignments, and your feedback will help us strengthen that effort.
Your collaboration is essential as we work together to ensure that our students’ at-home workload is both meaningful and manageable. Thank you for your continued support in this matter.
