There’s a place for everyone to get involved at Hillcrest! Whether you have an hour to spare or want to take on a larger role, your time and talents can make a meaningful impact on our students, teachers, and school community.
Parents can volunteer in many ways, including chaperoning field trips, assisting with fundraising efforts, supporting teacher and staff appreciation events, or helping with Homecoming, dances, and other campus celebrations.
These are just a few of the many opportunities available. No matter your interests, skills, or schedule, there’s a way for you to contribute and help make Hillcrest an even stronger community. We’d love to have you join us!
Anyone who will be volunteering on a Dallas ISD campus or at a Dallas ISD event must register through VOLY. This includes volunteering for one-time opportunities such as Career Day, field trip chaperones, and similar events.
You do not need to register to attend events where you are only an audience member — such as awards assemblies, parent meetings, or performances.
Yes. All volunteers must renew their application and complete a new background check each school year.
The annual volunteer cycle runs July through June. Be sure to renew before the start of each new school year.
If your application is not approved, you will receive a notification with information about the decision. You may file a Volunteer Clearance Appeal Form that will be reviewed by a Volunteer Appeal Review Committee.
If you have questions about your clearance status or next steps, contact the Partnership and Volunteer Engagement team through the Let's Talk question form.
