Natural Beauty

Beauty is everywhere and in everyone. Photojournalists, Anna and Teagan, take pictures of students around campus that they would otherwise passed by on any other day. In this photography project, they take the time to let people know of their beauty and photograph it to spread it with Scroll readers.

Natural Beauty

By Anna Walker and Teagan McNamara

Accepting yourself on an outward level is hard for many and, with the influence of social media, it is hard to truly love who you are. Many people know the phrase "Beauty comes from within," which is completely true. Feeling confident about who you are on the outside can also affect a person in many ways. A lack of confidence can make a person not able to speak up or state a point, rendering them helpless to failure or heartache. People should all try to build confidence and self-esteem.

Forget about the conventional view of beauty. Look in the mirror and hype yourself up. You look great! And, finally, smile. A smile suits everyone. To spread our idea of positivity and self-confidence, we walked around and found people we thought were beautiful, in many different ways.

*All students in photos consented to being photographed.*

You are beautiful!
