Have you ever thought of a book, game, or cartoon that has not become live-action yet, and you are desperate for certain actors to be in the live-action version? That is what this column is for!
Ever After High is a series about the kids of famous and infamous old fairy tale characters, including some old fairy-tale myths that deal with their own insecurities involving different comparisons to them and their parents as they go to a school-- either falling in love, starting fights, or running away from their problems. Sure, it's a little dark, but some character changes are so funny that you might cry.
Alistair is technically the main character-- Wonderland lore-wise. Oh, fairy tale characters having lore? Interesting. He is pretty much the more dreamy male character as the son of Alice and that is surprising because Daring Charming exists and, for once, he just got outlawed. The only thing that does not sit right with me is that Alice is mentioned but is not in their world at all. Is she dead? Apparently, the Queen of Hearts is still not over Alice ruining her already-destroyed roses and interrupting her rounds of croquet.
Ross Lynch has been the internet's favorite white-blonde boy ever since 2011. 841.3 people talk about him on the internet every day, and 40% of that 841.3 have advocated for him to be a part of this production, as shown in My Cast. He matches Alistair's facial features very well. Ross's similar roles are Austin Moon from Austin And Ally, Brady from Teen Beach Movie series, and Harvey Krinkle from The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina-- all characters who get scared easily but still act boldly.
Apple is like the nicest Mean Girls character giving the vibes, but she is still very annoying sometimes. The amount of times they announce her mother's name is irritating. That woman has been sleeping for years and suddenly got famous? I wish I had that reward. She drags Daring with her everywhere, like he is a lost pet, and it makes me rage. She is the typical blonde stereotype. Always looking in the mirror, very accident prone. Nothing new.
Dove Cameron just makes sense. If you ever watched Liv And Maddie, Liv is a mini version of Apple. They are both extremely irritating at times (in this situation ''at times'' would be an understatement.) The characters both treat blond males horribly, and they don't think before they speak. One of them starts fights like a baby and the other one becomes so upset with the evil queen's daughter that she confusingly just smashes her out of her prison, freeing her. I wonder who would do this?
I love how, in this version, producers made Snow White tall because Disney confirmed that she was actually 5'4 in their version. Her voice is completely different and when she is aggressively complimenting someone, I can't stop imagining the original voice, Adriana Caselotti, yapping her mouth off at someone. She is so mean to some people, especially those who don't give men attention when she's calling out. It makes me feel so bad for Apple.
Kate Siegel has had a lot of interesting roles that have to do with having something white-- so why not? She could pull the look off. She has the curls and the attitude. Kate Siegel's similar roles are Kate L'Espanaye from The Fall Of The House Of The Usher. Jen Tompson from Hypnotic and Jessie Burling of Gerald's Game-- all similar roles that were never meant to have kids in scary places.
Ashlynn Ella is the daughter of Cinderella, who is dating the son of a Hunter. She’s very peaceful for someone who has to deal with her evil step-aunts who are, for some reason, nicer to her than they were to her mother. Emotional abuse? Possibly. You never know what they are doing these days. Her step-cousin Dizzy in the Descendants universe is somehow in charge of her own shop at 12-13 years old. At least Ashlynn has a different taste in men, gravitating toward those who love animals and can multi-task doing hunting prep stuff.
Kristine Forseth is what the internet wanted. Kristine is in a lot of T.V. adaptations where she plays the confused, almost-in-danger girl every single time. Her similar roles are Jess from Junior, Chrissy Monroe from When The Street Lights Go On, and Kelly Aldrich from The Society.
King Charming has a pretty bad long relationship status, which everyone already knows. I never took him as the type to get Ariel the mermaid pregnant, which is very new information, yet he still has not been divorced. The original middle child, Dexter, has sadly witnessed seeing his father like this and is embarrassed by his family name but still tries miserably to make himself stand out in the family.
Some viewers are very argumentative about Chris Evans. Every single announcement he is in involves a new character. At least 50 people want him to go for the role and another 50 disagree in My Cast. Meanwhile, a large assortment of people talk about him as a celebrity crush all the time: A.K.A. my siblings and Instagram followers.
Dexter is the clumsy sibling of the Charmings; he is pretty much what Daring thinks Darling is: the stereotypical girl. I'm sorry. Fans love both of them, but it is the truth. He has a massive crush on Raven and is so shy about it. They are just so cute. He makes talking to Sagittarius people super easy which is debatable.
Froy Gutierrez is another accurate internet pick, thanks to the people. I can see it. They look alike. Froy's similar roles are Charlie from Bella And The Bulldogs, and Nolan Holloway from Teen Wolf-- all roles in which the characters are anxious and are always stuck in a love triangle.
Watching the show, Cedar is not what I expected from someone who is the daughter of a tiny wood boy or man, probably a boy. I can't see Pinocchio as a dad. She is a very shy, nervous but clever girl who avoids huge crowds. I like how producers never changed the effects of the lying but never overused it in the later seasons. She avoids all of the drama, but she is never afraid to snoop a little bit.
For the role of Cedar, I choose another pick involving China Anne McClain. China is good at acting like she is new to things, which makes her a good choice. China's similar roles are China James from Daddy's Little Girl, and Jazmine from Tyler Perry's House Of Payne-- all characters who are nervous and have brand new outcomes.
Ginger is probably the most traumatizing character I have read about in order to get more info. She is the adoptive daughter of the candy witch from Hansel & Gretel. I love the character. It's just weird to name your child after the place where you tortured and ate someone and then make them grow up to be a cook. She is so innocent, too. She does not know what the witch was actually like or the fact that her own mom ate her dad.
Paulina Chavez is another internet choice from the site I always use that makes sense. The face is accurate. Chavez's similar roles are Sofia from Vicious Cycle, Ashley Garcia from Game On, and Freda from Teenage Girl-- all similar roles in which characters fill in their parents' shoes and repeat a family tradition.
Hunter is a man-child. He is one of twelve kids of the Huntsman from Little Red Riding Hood and Snow White. Apparently, the couple had one kid in the 1500s and eleven more in the 1700s. I don't know why they are still alive in the 2000s. The book series is a little off. He is dating Ashlynn, but there is a problem because, somehow, they are the same age in the EAH. Technically speaking, though, it does not sound like they are alive.
I see it. I am trusting the internet for once. I do not think the hair is going to work, but we could fix him. Ethan Cutkosky's similar roles are Josh from Alex/October, Otis from Hit And Run, and Carl Gallagher from Shameless- all roles in which characters are still learning and can be a bit rebellious.
Madeline is more mad than her dad, but she is somehow the slightly damaged light of her friend Raven's life-- considering the fact that she is friends with the daughter of the psychopathic woman who tried destroying Wonderland six times. If the Queen Of Hearts was not there to ease tension, then the whole world would be depending on Uno instead of normal cards. Those darn Skip and Wild cards. They are untrustworthy.
Honestly, I think we should give Whitney Peak a shot at this. She seems like she would have a tea party in a random, creepy basement that looks like a crime scene and be totally chill about it. A similar role to Whitney's is Becca from Hocus Pocus 2. They are both unsure of what they are going to do in the future but are not afraid to mess around.
Melody is another character that had a different outcome than what she seemed. She has never appeared with her father's version of the original flute, but she has one that was made in our year and usually just appears out of nowhere with a keyboard. It drives the headmaster insane every single time. Don't blame him. She has no cover for the keyboard and just walks with it like she is lifting weights. This is not Wonderland.
Olivia Rodrigo is currently a very popular musician. She could claim the role. Rodrigo's most similar role is Nini from High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. They both have a passion for music and are focusing on coming out of their shell.
Overall, the above description is what I want a screen adaptation of Ever After High to look like. I am sad that I am leaving this column behind when I graduate, but life goes on. Have a nice month!
