Responsibility

Students are most successful when they are organized and prepared for class. This includes coming to class promptly and bringing homework and other supplies needed for the day. Students are not allowed to call home to have work brought to school, and they cannot return to the classroom for materials.  It is important for them to learn to be independent.

Absences

If your child is absent, I will be happy to let you know what the missing work is. I can send it home with another child or leave it in the office by the end of the day. Generally, your child will have the same number of days he/she is absent to make up the missed work. Be aware, however, that much of the class work such as class discussion and activities are impossible to make up.

If you know ahead of time that your child will miss school, please let me know as soon as possible.  I will do the best I can to provide materials before hand, as it can be overwhelming for students to try and make up a lot of work when they return from an extended absence.
