Thank Yous And Remembrance To Those Who Served

Veterans Day is a day for honor and celebration and FMS gave thanks and remembrance for those who fought for America.
The first Veterans day was celebrated on November 11, 1919, at the end of WW1. Now, 106 years later we are still celebrating those brave individuals who have fought for our freedoms. Veterans day took place on November 11th, and FMS did a lot to celebrate! In advisory classes (1st hour) Students wrote thank you cards to the local veterans. Along with that, students also colored a paper star, saying what freedom meant to them and those stars were displayed in the hallway.
In addition to all of these activities, FMS also held an assembly on Tuesday afternoon. During this assembly our Veterans were honored with the National Anthem and Armed forces Medley sung by our very own and extremely talented FMS choir, directed by the amazing Ms. Bohl. In addition to the singing and picture slideshow displaying Veterans of FMS, our speaker, Veteran Army Medic Shawn Montgomery got students up and doing push-ups during his wonderful speech. It was an incredible assembly and everyone involved did a great job explaining the importance of Veterans Day and to honor those who have fought for the freedom of American citizens. Our Veterans are so important to our community, our country, and our lives, so please thank a veteran, and spread the word about November 11th's importance, because the soldiers of America are a good reason to celebrate.
