Have you ever considered joining chess? Learning how to play? Or just looking for a fun time after school to hang out with friends? If so, chess club might be the place for you. Chess club is an after school program that runs on tuesday 3-4 PM in room 126, Mr. Cole's room.
The club is a place where you can come in and play chess, hang out, and talk with friends for an hour after school, as well as learn how to play the game, learn new techniques, strategies, and moves as well as enter in tournaments to compete against fellow chess players, to get prizes.
Chess originated in India in the 6th century CE, evolving from a game called chaturanga, which meant “four divisions of the military”. The game then spread to persia becoming shatranj, and from there they traveled through the muslim world and into europe. European players made significant changes, leading to the modern game by around 1500 CE.
So if you think chess club sounds interesting or fun for any reason, come check it out and play. All are welcome!

It's time for you to learn more about clubs or to go deeper more about FCA! Let us walk you through it. First they start with an ice breaker sometimes 4 corners other times "backpacking trip" and other fun activities. After they finish with the icebreaker, they do devotion, read the Bible, have some snacks, and then they will pray. After that they split into groups they will say a couple verses and ask questions like "How can you live out and make these verses your everyday life?" or "How can we make space for people who feel like they belong?" and other questions like ”If someone is by themselves, invite to them over to your friend group.”
