The 5th graders have focused upon the main elements of music since the beginning of the school year. We have played with rhythm, melody, harmony, form, timbre, tempo, and dynamics. We have also begun part singing and songs in different languages! Students are also learning songs where they can accompany their singing with both pitched and unpitched percussion instruments.
January usually brings with it drum circles and in the spring we will again learn and play ukuleles.
The 5th Graders have performance opportunities with band, orchestra, and choir.

Our district has purchased a new resource for general music - Quaver. Your students can log onto this site by clicking the Quaver Music App in their Classlink launchpad. Ask you student to show you around this site where they have created their own avatar and are learning about and exploring music.

5th Grade Choir
Do you have a 5th grade student who likes to sing? Before school choir begins on Wednesday, September 27th! This opportunity, open to all 5th grade students, will focus on proper vocal technique, part singing, team building, and will build a foundation for future vocal endeavors.
