6th Grade Math & Accelerated Math

This month, students are wrapping up their first unit on area and surface area! Throughout this unit, they've been learning to calculate the area of various polygons by decomposing, rearranging, enclosing, and composing shapes. Next, students will practice representing 3D shapes (polyhedra) using 2D nets to calculate their total surface area.

7th Grade

September 2026

7th Grade Accelerated Math

This September, seventh grade accelerated students are learning about scale drawings and dilations. Students will explore scale factors, create and interpret scaled representations, and apply dilations to real-world situations.

7th Grade Math

This September, seventh grade math will be introduced to proportional relationships. Students will explore how quantities change at a constant rate using tables, graphs, equations, and real-world examples.

8th Grade Honors Algebra 1

September 2026

We began the school year with Module 2, starting with Solving Equations. In September, students will continue with Proportions before moving on to the second part of Module 2: Inequalities. During this unit, students will learn how to represent inequalities on a number line, solve and graph compound inequalities, and apply their knowledge to real-world word problems.

8th Grade Math Algebra 1A

We have hit the ground running! Our 8th graders are diving into transformations and exploring reflections, translations, rotations, and dilations. Students are learning the rules involved in transforming figures and discovering how those rules can be used to describe and predict the movement of a figure.

We are also connecting transformations to the real world, where they are used in areas such as art, architecture, design, technology, and engineering. It’s exciting to see students make connections between the math they are learning in the classroom and how transformations are used beyond the classroom!
