MEGA Congratulations to Hannah and Parker on your SECOND invitation to be in the ILMEA District 9 Honor Band. Overall, DMS has one of the largest representations in the ensemble across the western suburbs. Way to go CARDUNALS!
We're pleased to announce our 2026 DMS musical...Wizard of Oz! Students were thrilled to join in on the fun of guessing the show during musical countdown week. More information will be coming soon about auditions!
Bella Voce and Valiant Voices uniforms need to come together this month and be ready for our November 19th choir tour. Uniforms should arrive first week of November. Remember that VV boys will need to provide their own long sleeve white button shirt, black dress pants, black socks, black dress shoes.
Music Polos have arrived and will be distributed this month.
BV and VV will perform in an elementary choir tour on Wed Nov 19th. A permission slip will be sent home soon.
7th and 8th grade students should have all logged into Sightreading Factory to create a student account by now. The student code is zzbzph. In quarter 2, they have assignments they need to complete in their account.
Our Holiday concert is on December 16th at 7:00pm in the Main Gym. Please mark your calendars.
Our first DMS Orchestra Concert is Wednesday, November 12th, 2025 @ 7pm in the Gym. Students will wear their concert uniforms (red polos, black dress pants or floor length skirt with black socks and black dress shoes). Student arrival time is 6:30 pm. We are looking forward to sharing our music with you!
We recently had a guest teacher visit our 7th grade orchestra rehearsal! Mr. Ostwald, a highly regarded Chicago-based clinician and retired orchestra director, led a rehearsal that helped our ensemble prepare for the concert. He helped connect excellent technique to the music that we are excited to perform for you at our concert!

Reminder: Please ask your students about their orchestra materials. 6th grade students need to have their orchestra books from last year, Essential Elements for Strings Book 1. The 7th and 8th grade students need new method books for class as well as the books from last year. 7th grade orchestra students need Essential Elements Books 1 & 2 for their specific instrument. 8th grade students need Essential Elements Book 2 & Essential Technique Book 3 for their specific instrument.
