Grade Level & Accelerated Math – Module 3 Update
Students are diving into fraction division in Module 3, building on their understanding of fraction multiplication. Key skills include:
Converting mixed numbers to improper fractions before dividing
Using models and algorithms to solve division problems.
Simplifying fractions to their lowest terms is a must!
Coming Next: Module 4 – Decimals
We're shifting gears to decimal operations next. The #1 Rule when adding or subtracting decimals:
👉 Always line up the decimal point!
7th Grade Math
This month in math, students are learning how to add and subtract integers—both positive and negative numbers. We’re using number lines, integer chips, and real-world examples (like changes in temperature or money owed) to understand positive and negative values. Students are practicing strategies to make sense of expressions such as −3+5 and 6−(−2). Students will also be practicing rational numbers on a number line.
8th Grade Algebra 1A
November 2025
Currently, in 8th grade algebra 1A math we are blending geometry and algebra. Students are working on identifying angle relationships and finding missing angle measures. Identifying angle relationships is relevant in the real world from the construction and engineering of buildings, bridges, and furniture to the precise movements of athletes and navigators. They are also visible in everyday objects like scissors, clocks, and even the shape of a pizza slice. Angles are used to measure precise shapes, determine directions, and improve performance in many everyday and professional fields, that is why it is important for students to learn these skills.
8th Grade Honors Algebra
November 2025
In November, students will focus on linear equations. They will learn how to write equations in multiple forms, graph lines, determine relationships between lines (parallel/perpendicular), and apply their knowledge to solve word problems.
