8th Grade Honors Algebra 1
We just finished up linear functions which including new vocabulary like inputs, outputs, domain and range. We are starting with slope and graphing lines and will be testing right before Thanksgiving break.
November 2024: Module 3
Module 3: Students will be focusing on Fraction Division after reviewing multiplication of fractions. Students will need to learn to rewrite a mixed number as an improper fraction prior to dividing. Students will solve problems through modeling and the use of the algorithm. Remember, always simplify a fractions to lowest terms. Next unit, Module 4: Decimals. Number 1 Rule- line up decimals when adding and subtracting.
This month, we will dive into understanding and using percents in everyday situations. Percents are everywhere—shopping discounts, sports statistics, test scores, and even tips at restaurants! The students will be creating their own taco truck business as the final project for the unit.
7th Grade Accelerated Math
Students will be exploring linear functions — how to graph them and apply them to real-world situations. Get ready to master slopes, intercepts, and straight-line graphs!
8th Grade - Algebra 1A
Quarter 1 Update: 8th grade Algebra 1A learned how to solve linear equations with a focus on solving multistep equations involving distribution, colleting like terms, and special case equations. 8th grade students completed Scary Equation Scarecrows. See picture to the left.
8th Grade Algebra 1A
Currently in Quarter 2, we are working on a Geometry Unit with a focus of using linear equations to find missing angles in angle pairs (Complementary, Supplementary, Vertical, and Parallel lines cut by a transversal). See picture to the left.
8th GRADE Math Update:
Are you READY for iReady?? December 3rd is our next Math iReady Diagnostic. This Diagnostic helps determine High School Course selection. iReady tips: good night sleep, healthy breakfast and positive attitude. Your student should be completing ONE math iReady lesson on their path every week.
