From PBIS to ARK
Over the past few weeks I have heard from parents wondering what ARK is, and what it stands for. You may be familiar with the term PBIS, which is our school wide positive incentive program. This year the team has decided to shift away from PBIS to using the acronym ARK. ARK are the values that we have established specifically for DMS.
ARK stands for: Accountability, Responsibility, and Kindness.
Accountability - taking ownership of your actions, good or bad.
Responsibility - doing what you need to do in a timely manner.
Kindness - be respectful and kind to all.
When students are following ARK they are able to earn Cardunal Cash to use at our school stores, enter quarterly raffle prizes, and teachers may use them for incentives in the classroom.
ARK Food DRive
ARK Food DRive
Each November, the DMS community comes together for our annual food drive, collecting non-perishable food items to support the D300 Food Pantry. This effort directly benefits families in our own D300 community.
During 2023 year the D300 Food Pantry was able to serve 5,177 children, 2,284 households, and 418,742 pounds of food was collected.
This year, we are asking students and families to bring their donations to 2nd-period classes. The class that collects the most items will enjoy a treat from the ARK team!
Donations will be accepted from November 4th to 21st.
Boo Grams!
I want to give a big shout out to the Parent Association for helping us get parent volunteers to sell Boo Grams during all lunch periods. Also, thank you to all the parent volunteers who came in, and helped with the selling of the Boo Grams! Without your support we wouldn't be able to do, what we do.
