March 2025:
Grade Level - Module 8: Numerical and Algebraic Expressions. Students will learn to understand and apply exponents, write and evaluate numerical expressions for various situations, and model situations with algebraic expressions. They will also interpret, evaluate, and identify equivalent algebraic expressions using the distributive property and combining like terms. The summative assessment for this module will take place before spring break.
Accelerated Math - Module 9: Solving Problems Using Equations and Inequalities. Students will explore inverse operations and how to use them to solve problems involving variables.
7th Grade Math
In March, the math classes will wrap up our unit on Inequalities and gear up for an exciting new topic: Circles! The students will apply formulas to solve problems measuring the circumference and area of circles.
7th Grade Accelerated Math
The students will be finishing the real number system unit, including: rational & irrational numbers, and they will be moving to the area and circumference of circles unit.
8th Grade Algebra 1A
February 2025: Module 7
We have just finished studying functions in the real-world. Students analyzed and compared functions and applied them to their daily lives. We are now solving systems of equations by graphing and substitution. We will practice these skills a significant amount to prepares students for high school algebra.
8th Grade Honors Algebra
We have just finished working on factoring and FOILing polynomials. We will take a quick break to graph quadratics so students understand the visual of the x-squared relationship. Before IAR, we will be reviewing some main concepts that students may see on the test.
