Salve! My name is Anna Reiff and I am the Latin teacher here at Stagg High School (and VJA too). I graduated from Monmouth College with degrees in Latin and Biology, and eventually earned my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University. I am currently in my 23rd (WOW!) year here at AAS and I was honored to be named Illinois Latin Teacher of the year in 2019. I work in the best department ever and I absolutely love the students I teach! The best thing about my job is that I have the same students every year, and we become our own little familia (family). I love sharing Latin with them while watching them grow into amazing adults!
When I am not in school, I enjoy being mom to my three kids and wife to my hubby. The Romans, who gave us the Latin Language I teach, talked about the idea of "otium," the good life of leisure and enjoyment. I try and echo this at home too. Every year we take trips to Minnesota, and soak in the lake life. The arboretum and the forest preserves are favorite escapes. But my happiest place is at home in the backyard at my grill, making all kinds of delicious food for friends and family.
