¡Hola! I am a part of the best World Language Department in the world! Stagg World Language teachers work as partners with and guides for your children to help them maximize their language learning and cultural competency, as well as reach their own personal goals for the class.
About me: I have been a Spanish teacher since 1998, and at Stagg since 2005. I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and moved to Chicago to attend Loyola University Chicago. I earned an Honors B.A. in Spanish from Loyola in 1997, and a Masters of Secondary Curriculum & Instruction, also from Loyola, in 1999. I currently teach Spanish 2 Honors and Spanish 3 Honors.
I adore anything from other cultures! I have literally never met a culture that I wasn't fascinated by. I believe that language cannot be learned in a vacuum; it is interwoven with the culture in which is is used. I love to travel and would love to visit every country in the world. My favorite places that I've visited are Egypt, India, and Guatemala.
In my free time, I like to read thrillers and historical fiction; watch cheesy 1990's sitcoms like Friends, The Office, Frasier, The Golden Girls, and Wings; hang out with my husband and 2 teenage boys; take naps with my cat, kayak, practice yoga, and eat chocolate.
