The Palmer Science Foundation, established in 2022, provides financial support to Palmer Science that allows department faculty to reach far beyond the limits of the classroom walls. While the normal operating budget covers general, everyday costs like lab consumables, copies, and basic school supplies, the costs of everything beyond the fundamentals to "do" school falls on our students, families, and staff. As a result, some valuable academic opportunities may be deemed impossible because of the financial burden placed on the department or Palmer families.
The Palmer Science Foundation strives to bridge this gap and help make the impossible, possible for all Palmer students...the Foundation provides funding to cover the costs of Palmer STEM Day, science fair registration and poster printing, lab supplies for Chem Club, maintenance for the Palmer greenhouse, travel costs for Science Olympiad competitions, stipends for students completing summer assistant and mentorships, thank you gifts for Palmer Science Lecture speakers and Research mentors, class field trips and guest speakers, and SO much more.
The Palmer Science Foundation operates within Palmer High School and falls under the umbrella of Colorado Springs School District 11's nonprofit status. As such, all donations to the Palmer Science Foundation are tax deductible. If you are interested in contributing to the Palmer Science Foundation, please contact Palmer Science department chair Geoff Lewis (geoffrey.lewis@d11.org) and Foundation administrator Nathaniel Lohmann (nathaniel.lohmann@d11.org).
