Strategies for answering questions in Spanish
1. Figure out what the question is asking by looking up question words and any unfamiliar vocabulary words. If it helps, label the words you know.
2. If the question does not use a question word, it is a “do ” or “does ” type question. Use the conjugated verb to finish off the question.
3. Figure out who the question is asking about by looking at the verb and what subject it is conjugated to. If it helps, underline the verb.
4. Most of the time you can use the verb phrase or verb in your answer. It may be conjugated differently though.
5. Figure out what you would say in English before you try answering in Spanish to avoid the usage of any unnecessary words.
6. When writing your answer, say each word in English to yourself as you are writing it.
7. Re-read your answer saying every word in English to yourself to make sure it makes sense.
8. If your unsure, keep your answer simple.
